Supplier Selection and Component Quality Control
A tricycle is only as reliable as the weakest part on it. Before any component — battery, motor, controller, brake, steel — is allowed onto the production line, the supplier behind it goes through a documented vetting process. This is how we keep quality consistent batch after batch.
Six Things Every Supplier Has to Prove
No single criterion qualifies a supplier on its own. A vendor has to clear all six before any of their parts reach a production tricycle.
Certification & Compliance
Valid quality-system certification and, where the part needs it, the test reports and material certificates required for our export markets.
Sample Testing
Pre-production samples are bench-tested in-house against our own acceptance limits — not just the supplier's datasheet figures.
On-Site Audit
We visit the plant: production line, incoming-material control, testing equipment and how they handle their own rejects.
Capacity & Continuity
The supplier has to keep up with our build schedule and hold buffer stock, so a single shortage never stalls a customer's order.
Material Traceability
Batches are traceable back to their source. If a fault ever shows up in the field, we can isolate exactly which units are affected.
Track Record
Field history with comparable buyers, plus how the supplier responded the last time something went wrong — corrective action matters more than a clean sheet.
From Long-List to Approved Vendor
Every new supplier moves through the same five stages. Nothing skips ahead — a strong sample does not buy a pass on the audit.
Long-List & Documentation Review
We shortlist candidates and review certifications, test reports, material certificates and production capacity on paper before anyone's time is spent on samples.
Sample Testing
Pre-production samples come into our own test area and are run against our acceptance limits — load, cycle life, heat, fit. Results are recorded, not taken on trust.
On-Site Audit
We walk the supplier's plant: incoming-material control, the line itself, test equipment, and how they quarantine and handle their own rejects.
Trial Batch
An approved candidate supplies a limited trial batch that goes into real production builds and gets tracked through assembly and our end-of-line testing.
Scorecard & Approved Vendor List
The supplier is scored on quality, delivery and responsiveness. Only those that clear the bar join the Approved Vendor List — and the score is reviewed, not permanent.
Approval Is Not Permanent
Getting onto the Approved Vendor List is the start, not the finish. Suppliers stay on it only while they keep clearing the same checks.
Incoming Inspection
Every delivery is sampled and checked against spec before it is released to the line. Non-conforming batches are quarantined, not used up.
Periodic Re-Audit
Approved suppliers are re-audited on a schedule. A plant that drifts — on equipment, staffing or process — is caught before it shows up in the field.
Batch Traceability
Component batches stay linked to the vehicles they went into, so any field issue can be traced to a specific supplier batch and contained.
Corrective-Action Loop
When something fails, the supplier owns a documented corrective action. Repeat failures without a real fix mean removal from the list.
The point of all this: consistency. A buyer who orders from us this year and again in three years should get the same vehicle — same parts, same quality — not a lottery that depends on who we happened to be buying from that month.
Quality Starts Before the Line
The vetting behind every part is what makes the spec sheet mean something. Talk to our export team, or see how the same discipline plays out in testing.
